Mayor Brook Lyon has lived on James Island for over 30 years and brings a deep passion for the island and its residents to her role. Guided by a vision of a vibrant, sustainable, and welcoming community, Mayor Lyon focuses on initiatives that improve the quality of life for everyone who calls James Island home.

Her priorities include addressing drainage challenges, acquiring more green spaces and parks, and ensuring that the town government remains responsive to residents’ concerns. She also serves as the Council Liaison to the Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, History Council, Trees Advisory Council, and the Rethink Folly Road Committee — demonstrating her commitment to thoughtful planning, community engagement, and preserving the island’s unique character.
